Duo Lijbaart/Brederode
Drummer Joost Lijbaart en pianist Wolfert Brederode zijn in staat om hun instrumenten zo te combineren dat ze samensmelten tot één instrument. Dit jaar vieren ze hun twintigjarig jubileum als Duo Lijbaart/Brederode. En dat komen ze met ons doen in Brouwerij Martinus.
Met hun album ‘One’ uit 2006 gooiden Lijbaart en Brederode hoge ogen. Ze hebben aan de basis gestaan van groepen als Batik en het Yuri Honing Acoustic Quartet, en in 2023 bracht Wolfert Brederode bij het vermaarde label ECM het album ‘Ruins and Remains’ uit met Joost Lijbaart en het Matangi Quartet, dat werd bekroond met een edison. Al vele jaren spelen ze als duo enthousiast ontvangen concerten op internationale podia, waaronder in het afgelopen jaar tours door Canada en Japan.

Drummer Joost Lijbaart and pianist Wolfert Brederode are able to combine their instruments in such a way that they merge into one instrument. This year, they are celebrating their twentieth anniversary as Duo Lijbaart/Brederode. And they are coming to celebrate with us at Brouwerij Martinus.
Lijbaart and Brederode made a big splash with their 2006 album ‘One’. They were at the forefront of groups such as Batik and the Yuri Honing Acoustic Quartet, and in 2023 Wolfert Brederode released the album ‘Ruins and Remains’ with Joost Lijbaart and the Matangi Quartet on the renowned ECM label, which received an Edison Award. For many years they have been playing enthusiastically received concerts as a duo on international stages, including tours of Canada and Japan in the past year.
